Let's face it, sometimes the DFL and Republican parties are just plain wrong. Most times, however, they have good ideas to add to the debate. The problem is, however, that they often don't stand for those ideas.
When push comes to shove, and when they only focus is on the next election or campaign fundraiser, party leadership forgets something important....what you stand for. Ever notice how what you thought would happen during an election get's ignored afterward. One doesn't have to look any farther than the NSA privacy debacle in the Obama administration, the still open GITMO, or the record deficits racked up during the Bush administration with accounting gimmicks.
We can't afford this as a nation, state, or city anymore. We as citizens must stop voting for cheap image and start standing for what we believe in. That's what you can expect from the Independence Party and movement...a group that stands for their beliefs. Try us out...come together to actually solve problems!
Independent U.S. Senator Angus King (Maine) has introduced legislation to bring back banking regulation similar to the Glass-Steagall Act, a set of rules which governed banking from the Great Depression until 1999, when it was repealed during the Clinton Administration.
The repeal of that act is considered one of the major causes of the Great Recession in the late 2000's which cost too many American's their homes.
